Thoughts for Today

A Note For Your Lunch Box

When my children were very young, I started writing them notes of encouragement and letters to read later in their life.  My Mom used to do the same for me and now it has become a tradition in our home.  All of the years through their schooling, I randomly selected days to slip a note in their lunch box.  I thought it would make them feel good to get a sweet thought from Mom while away from home.  That was years ago before the possibility of messaging, texting, and emails at school.  Even with all that available now, there is something very sincere and heart-warming about receiving a hand-written note.  It means someone actually took the time to select a card or piece of paper, find a pen, and think.  Think about the perfect words just for that person.  It’s beautifully old-fashioned.  I noticed that through the years my girls kept almost every note.  What a precious thought that the notes were treasured so.  With all that said, when is the last time you got a note in your lunch?  Been too long, huh?  Well, today is your lucky day…I have written this with you in mind.  If I could place a note in your lunch today, this is what it would say:

Dear Child of God,
You are loved and cherished by the Almighty Father.  You were planned before creation – He wanted you here.  You are smart, good looking, kind, compassionate, and have a beautiful soul.  You are brave and courageous for tackling this thing we call life.  You are enough.  Keep your head held high.  Do good.  Encourage and bless someone today because you never know who might need to be lifted up.  Let your light shine!
Sister-in-Christ,
Celeste
“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”  Proverbs 16:24

Please share this with the people in your life (as their lunch box note) to be sure they know they are loved by you.
