In keeping with the theme that all of my stories are true, this one is no different. This week I passed by an unfortunate looking man holding a sign that said, “KINDNESS NEEDED”. Broke my heart. I won’t get into opinions and theories about the homeless, but regardless of the circumstances that landed him there, he was being very transparent. He really did need kindness. I wish we could all wear a sign around our neck telling others what we need that day. Some of the signs might say, “hug needed,” or “prayer needed,” or “compassion needed,” or “joy needed”. Maybe we would see each other’s vulnerable side and think twice about how we respond to our family, friends, co-workers, and strangers. Since we don’t really know what those in our presence need, let’s try doing to them what we need for the day. So if your sign for the day reads, “self-confidence needed,” then do something or say something to boost someone else’s self-confidence and so on. I promise you, that if you will practice this daily, whatever you need will be provided and then some.
