Pray Over Me

There I sat while she prayed over me. As if I didn’t know I needed it, but God did, so He sent her. It was a beautiful prayer. I barely knew the woman, but we worked together. She was a nurse seasoned with life. She had taken a moment out of her busy day to come to my office. The aged woman explained that she felt we had the same Spirit. She could just tell. Her bright pink lipstick led the way as she told me a little about her life including her medical mission work for children. She had certainly seen a lot of life and had her fair share of pain. Energetically, she explained that she prayed for me on the very first day she saw me. I sat there in awe that someone lifted me up in prayer and didn’t even know me. Prayer takes special energy and is an act of love. Strangers don’t usually do that. Either way, I was grateful. I need all the prayers I can get. Before she left my office, her beautiful, loving Spirit, wanted to leave a mark on my day and life, so she began to pray over me with no warning. Most people would have asked if it would be okay if a prayer was said, but not her; she was an extraordinary lady. With power and love and selflessness, she prayed God’s favor over my life and success in my work. I sat there in the presence of our Father, with the Spirit filling the air, and in Jesus’ name she lifted me up. Tears began to fill my eyes. I thanked God for her. I thanked God for sending her my way to teach me and bless me. Of course, there was a big hug afterward like a mom would embrace her child. I thanked her very much for her beautiful words and energetic prayer. There really wasn’t enough thanks to express my gratitude. What a different world this would be if co-workers prayed for each other rather than became bitter at one another.

Needless-to-say, I will not soon forget this nurse and sister-in-Christ who took just a moment to bless me. I am so appreciative that she chose to build me up. I am so grateful she used the power of the Spirit to boldly come to me rather than keep her thoughts to herself. And little did she know, her actions would also bless those who read this, far beyond what any of us may ever know. This sweet soul can pray over me anytime she likes.

Praying over you too,
Celeste
“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ…” Jude 1:20,21
