Thoughts for Today

To Moms Everywhere

Thank you to Moms everywhere who…
Know what it’s like to be woken in the night by a sick child only to find themselves cleaning up the most putrid smelling stuff a little body can make (again and again and yet again),
Work all day long and then come home and work all evening long,
Lovingly cradle their children, as though time didn’t exist, when things aren’t going as planned,
Make the best chicken soup in the world when the flu has been crippling,
Give wise advice that is taken sometimes and, unfortunately, not taken sometimes,
Find someone else’s child wandering around and work tirelessly until the parent is found,
Walk two of their children in a stroller and two dogs all at the same time,
Stay up past midnight doing school projects that are not their own,
Bake cookies for the fund raiser, coach the softball team, drive a child to ballet, visit grandma, and manage to have supper on the table in time for starving bellies,
Drive all over town, going to multiple stores to find just the right Halloween costume (or pair of shoes or dress or slacks or bathing suit), then, in complete exhaustion, return home, but still have to put up the dishes and finish the laundry,
Teach God’s word, pray without ceasing, and model the life of a child of God to their children.

May God bless you dearly for bringing up precious souls that God has sent your way,
Celeste
