Love Is...Big, Juicy Blueberries

Love is…my youngest asking how she can help me get out the door in the morning, so I’m not late for work, even without being asked.
Love is…my Dad taking my car to get general maintenance because he knows I don’t have the time.
Love is…choosing not to respond harshly, but choosing grace instead of an argument.
Love is…my Mom leaving her job to come all the way across town to deliver a pick-me-up when she knows I’m having a particularly rough day.
Love is…my brother fixing my car after work when he has worked tirelessly day after day with no time off.
Love is…my sister’s compassionate, kind words when the world has been cruel.
Love is…when my eldest brings a double-doozie cookie to my work because she knows it’s my favorite.
Love is…listening to my grandmother tell the same story over and over, like it’s the first time I’ve heard it, and cherishing every word.
Love is…rocking my grandbaby to sleep when she’s exhausted and crying and can’t be consoled.
Love is…my husband helping with the laundry even when there are a million other things he would rather be doing.
Love is…picking the biggest, juiciest blueberries out for my child’s lunch and putting the ugly ones in mine.

What does your family’s quirky love list look like?  Focus on it and it will bring you great joy.
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”  1 John 7-8

Thinking of you,
Celeste

True kindness is gum with a curly ribbon on it and a note card saying they saw what you did for another and it made them feel good.
