I recently had the pleasure of meeting a woman who is a retired "lunch lady" as many kids say. She told me a story about a little boy who came through the lunch line one day and wanted extra juice. When she told him it would cost an extra 30 cents he told her he didn't have any money. She reached in her pocket (where she kept change for just that kind of thing), gave him the money, and told him to pay the cashier. The next day, the little boy came through the line and gave her a penny. When she asked him about it, he said, "It's going to take me a while, but I'll pay you back." Oh, what a precious, pure heart! I felt so blessed by this story and wanted to share.
Let’s find a way to feed a hungry child this week and remember, "...if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones...that person will not lose their reward."
